Self-Love

Self-Love… is it on your little “To do list”?
Image result for self love

That little to do list….I bet you all have one….maybe it’s under that pile on the table or maybe you use it diligently ticking off each thing as you go. Are you on it?…….Have you ever thought that you rate a mention on that little list of yours?  Grab a cuppa and lets have a little chat……

Love is what we all seek….love is what we are…and love is all that is…
However we find ourselves so very busy….doing….pleasing…fulfilling obligations ….the should…the have tos….
So many of us give and give….we may think we are doing the right thing….but somewhere inside little seeds of resentment are present….perhaps unacknowledged. We have all heard of our dark shadows…the things so many of us work so hard to face…but what about the ones we don’t perceive as dark but giving….like the giving to others before nurturing ourselves. Do we call them the white shadows?….the giving that puts ourselves on the back-burner until we are forgotten…left behind…..feeling without….who will give to us?
It doesn’t matter if everyone thinks you are so kind and giving and loving if you are so burnt out that you can’t give any more does it? All those times you put everyone else first and there was nothing left for you…..Sounds like the self-sacrificing martyr in action!

It is time to STOP!!!! Time to refuel and nurture.T
ime to honour yours truly….to give yourself some self-love healing.Give yourself permission to sit in stillness and truly listen to what your heart is telling you. Five minutes I hear your heart say! Five minutes of peace dedicated truly to yourself.

Love can mean many things….there is the human love…which I am sure we all know so well. But I want to talk about spiritual love.... total and absolute unconditional love in its purest form. Connection. To access this we require an open heart…..and the way to an open heart is through self-love….listening to your within…..feeling …. acknowledging ….. healing….releasing...trusting...connecting. Simply BEING.

To love yourself first opens the way to love others more fully… completely. When you honour yourself you are bestowing the greatest gift upon humanity and all the world….so give yourself permission for the time to be still…to go within and listen…listen to your heart….and love what you find…..and accept without judgement.
Surrender and allow the love to flow.....
Are you up for the challenge? To stop for five minutes……sit in stillness…and listen to your Heart…..I bet it is in need of some love…..go on give it some… and watch your world light up when  you stop putting yourself last on your to do list. Make your heart the heading of that little list….so you always put it first. While we’re at it….let’s change the title from the ‘To Do List” to the ‘To BE List'.

Fly Like an Eagle

I want to fly like an eagle...to the sea...fly like an eagle...Let my spirit carry me...

Yes...another beach walk inspired blog!!!After a short walk with my beautiful friend Estella, Mishy (my beloved pooch) and I continued on...embracing the wind and the cold...loving every moment of the solitude and deep sense of peace which pervades every cell of my body when we walk along the beach. We were soon joined by a most magnificent guardian.....an Eagle. What made this moment so special was the pure size of this Eagle and how close it chose to be with us. Mishy could have jumped up and touched it. He followed us along an entire stretch of deserted beach. A bay we call bungalows. Mishy and I were so excited with our spectacular and powerful companion. He did impress us with his skill and bravery too....on one of his swift dips into the sand dunes he came up with a mouse. Amazing!
I took his presence as a sign of confirmation from my guides to what was on my mind before his protective presence appeared...thank you. Our Eagle made his gallant departure inland...
Mishy and I continued on....me in deep thought...walking along...when I felt a presence behind. Yes!!! Our eagle had returned. He was so close that if I held out my hand...and stood on tip toes...I would have touched him. He was huge! I became overwhelmed with emotion...laughing... crying...joyous....doing the silly dance that I am so sure you all do at some stage of your life. How blessed I feel. What an amazing experience. I just had to share.

"Fly Like An Eagle"

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Oh, Lord, through the revolution

Feed the babies
Who don't have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin' in the street
Oh, oh, there's a solution

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Fly through the revolution

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Fly through the revolution

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

A Gift from the Heavens

A Gift from the Heavens

Today I felt the yearning…..as I so often do…..to take my beloved dog Mishy and walk along our special beach. This is our sacred time. I drift off in my walking meditation and Mishy runs freely along the deserted coastline….all traces of the Easter holiday tourists are a distant memory. I embrace the sun’s heavenly rays penetrating every cell of my body. The gentle breeze….(quite unusual for Dongara’s renowned gale force winds)…lovingly caressing my face and skin. I breathe deeply and fill my lungs with the oceans purity. I feel my body relax as I become mesmerised by the ocean singing its song of peace and serenity.

I look down upon the sand….my feet grounded to my beloved earth…..amongst the seaweed I spy a glimpse of colour…..shining out….calling my name. A peacock feather……a sign from the heavens???
I chose to believe this is so…..and yes…I do believe in Fairies!!!

In Greek mythology, the tail feathers of a peacock symbolize the vault of heaven, and the 'eyes of the stars'...The all-seeing knowledge...spiritual awakening. In Persia and Babylonia, the peacock is seen as the guardian to royalty....Divine protection. In Hindu mythology, they are connected with the Goddess Lakshmi...expressing kindness, compassion, benevolence, patience and fortune. In Asian spirituality, the peacock is associated with Kwan Yin, who also expresses the qualities of compassion, love, nurturing and goodwill.. In Buddhism, peacocks are symbolic of openness, immortality and purity. In Christianity, they symbolise resurrection, immortality and renewal...an all seeing church, holiness and sanctity.

Yes...I feel a connection with my peacock feather.......it could have been a seagull feather; there are plenty of those down the beach...but no!!!! I would not have seen the signs !!!! These signposts are reminders that we are all a part of the greater whole...we are all connected in our unique brilliance. So let us all spread our wings and show our true colours, with pride and integrity...walking tall along our path of life.....living the truth which radiates from our heart.

A Place To Call Home

A Place To Call Home

A new chapter of our camping holiday unveils with the discovery of our new home. Now this is a place we have camped before but we thought it was destroyed in the recent fires that devastated Esperance. We simply drove out here to send love and healing to our favourite place on Earth. Well…I do believe in miracles!!! All around we see scorched land but through some miracle, our little camp site is untouched. I am not sure if I can sufficiently express our pure elation and excitement. This truly feels like a home coming. We set up camp in our new home site. We are ever so grateful to be gifted with this beautiful, gentle peace of Earth to call home.

Once again we are reminded of the power of nature. The fire we witnessed the other day seems to have reignited with the winds. This time we helplessly watch from another location as the fierce intensity of the fire fuels up and spreads clouds of darkness up into the sky. We are far enough away to be safe but my heart bleeds for those brave souls facing the reality of what this fire means. All I can do is pray and send love and healing.

Since the previous fire that destroyed so much of the beautiful nature around the Cape Le Grand region, we have wondered the fate of the wild brumbies who would visit us here. Well, we didn’t have to wait for long for our answer….two beautiful brumbies stroll up and walk through our camp site!!! They are amazing…so unfazed by our appearance. We have since seen that there are a whole of them…Mum, Dad, siblings and baby. Oh how my heart fills with joy!
We do our yearly pilgrimage up Frenchman’s Peak. This is a very special place for me. I will share the Walich Dreaming story told by the Nyoongar Aboriginal people. The Ngadju people to the north and east share this story; however there are slight variations in the telling between these two groups. So here goes….One day two walich (eagles) from the inland flew down to Kippa Kuri (Esperance) and landed at Mandooboomup ( Cape Le Grand). The Mother walich made a nest and laid her eggs, while the Father walich flew off to look for food at Stokes Inlet.
A group of Aboriginal people camped near the Mother walich. The parents told the children to stay in the camp with the Elders while they went out hunting for food. Two children did not do as their parents asked and went off walkabout. They came across the nest of the Mother walich and stole her eggs, taking them back to camp.
When the Mother walich saw her eggs were missing, she flew after the two children. Catching them, she picked them up and carried them to sea and dropped them in. Every time the children tried to swim back to shore, the Mother walich would pick them up and drop them in the sea again. There are two rocks (Islands) offshore…they are the two children. The granite peak of Frenchman’s Peak …is the Mother walich watching the sea in case those children try to come back. And the water seeping from the peak…are the tears of the parents crying for their children.
The cave up at Frenchman’s peak is a sacred place. We are all touched by the energy. The view is absolutely spectacular…encompassing the magnificent Cape Le Grand and out to the picturesque ocean scattered with islands. This is my favourite place to meditate.

Connecting with Nature

Connecting with Nature

After a 16 hour journey,( the last few hours made up of investigating various 4 wheel drive tracks), we settle into our new home for the next five days. We are about 50 kms from Esperance…chasing big waves, peace and solitude. We have finally emerged from a perilous track with an extremely steep rocky descent… (I must admit I had my eyes closed as my son navigated the car down this track!)…and are met with a sight that feels like heaven. The rugged natural beauty is breath taking! I feel the layers of stress and tension peel away… revealing inner peace and calm. As I look around and absorb this isolated and rugged beauty, my heart is filled with love for our Mother Earth.
The cliffs drop down to pearly white sand with magnificent granite outcrops, boldly standing out into the ocean. The water here starts off a crystalline blue then suddenly changes to darkness almost black.  This coastline is rugged, mysterious and at times fierce. The waves are formidable…I feel a deep respect for the ocean here. I am a mere observer…not daring to venture out into its depths.
We set up camp on the coastal side of a limestone ridge with its magnificent granite outcrop reaching out to the ocean. We have walked into stormy weather…but nothing can dampen our spirits. We are free. We look around; there is only spectacular nature and us!!! How blessed I feel. Even the 35 knot wind with threatening rain is an adventure. We all laugh and tease and  join in together to create our new home. This camp site later becomes known as “Snake Valley”. Yes we share our home with many tiger snakes!!! We become very respectful of them, watching these beautiful creatures pass through our camp…admiring their strength, speed, elegance and agility…from a comfortable distance. I pray to the Snake God for a peaceful co-habitance…which we do.
Yes, we have been blessed with many experiences with nature. One such experience was initially scary. The boys headed out for a surf. A bank had built up over night so their thirst for a wave was about to be fulfilled. Izaac emerged from a peeling barrel…hooting sheer joy. Suddenly, Lotus spots a fin…and again!!! Panic sets in at the thought of my boys being in the water with a Great White Shark…we are not sure, but this region is renowned for Great Whites. This is their home! Out the boys come. Their faces are flooded with disappointment but the threat of coming face to face with a shark is also evident. I quietly pray for a miracle. We all stand facing out to the ocean; scanning the scene with our eyes. As the next wave rears up we witness a miracle...a pod of dolphins emerge surfing the wave … they are so magnificent and graceful…they are the master surfers…and they look like they are having so much fun. We jump around hooting our excitement…the dolphins are our sign that the water is safe. The boys race back into the ocean, eager to join the dolphins and ride these beautiful waves. We are all swept with relief and make sure we enjoy every moment of this incredible place while it lasts. I feel we are growing and learning. Accepting what is and flowing with the changes. We are actually at the mercy of the elements… nature, weather.

While we are at this isolated and magical part of Australia, we bear witness to another of Mother Earth’s extremes. In the distance we notice smoke rising and building up. There appears to be a fire. No!!! Esperance has suffered enough already. We assume this was caused by the recent lightning storm. We are safe but our heart breaks with the knowledge of the devastation a fire means. I go into meditation and send love and healing to the earth and its people. The rain comes…the fire eases…our prayers have been answered….Yet there is more to be revealed as we decide to move on from our temporary home….

Twinkle Toe Tales

Toes....Have you ever had a really good look at your toes? I am serious! When was the last time you sat down and had an in depth look at them? Well for me its only recently too. An interesting phone conversation led me to the topic of toes. You see this person has reoccurring issues with her toes...constant new toe damaging encounters! This sparked my interest to discover the hidden meaning that our toes can reveal. They are like a walking encyclopaedia...each toe is actaully an individual chapter filled with knowledge and wisdom...about YOU! Yes you! Hmmm...I did contemplate putting a pair of shoes on...but these little babies with their well earned battle scars require some serious attention.

Your toes very accurately reflect the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and well-being of a person. So for example a well balanced person would have beautifully, evenly shaped and spaced toes. And I am guessing that there are a lot of people out there who have battle scar toes like me...each lump and bump, twist and turn of our personal and emotional lives, each challenge and lesson is revealed for all to see on our toes. These can provide valuable clues...if we would only listen. So go on...have a look at your toes!

Do you suffer from corns, calluses, blisters? Oh, That's right...your shoes are too tight...or perhaps you are irritated by someone, someone is causing you friction. How about bunions? Well these are a sign of holding on to unexpressed anger and frustration. The angle of the toe can reveal whether a person is innately shy or outgoing.

There are certain characteristics that you are born with and these are said to be your Destined Path qualities. These are revealed through the natural shape of your toes ( pre battle scars). Which leads us on to the post battle scar toes. These are known as the Adapted Toes and are the result of the choices you have made. These choices and life experiences are what changes your natural toes...in some peoples case their toes can be severely deformed!!! The position of these adaptations are significant as each toe has a meaning...and so does each side of the body. The left side is your feminine, spiritual, and receiving side . This indicates your relationship with yourself and with spirit. These toes also contain the five elemental features. The right side represents your masculine side and how you present yourself to the world.

Now here's a quick overview of each toe...
The big toe is the Ether toe and associated with the throat chakra...self expression. It really stands out in answering the question "Are you walking your destined path?"" Living your truth?"
The second toe is the Air toe and communication toe.It is associated with the heart chakra and reflects a persons relationship with their higher self.
The middle toe is the Fire toe. It is known as the action toe if you are an achiever or a Poor Me toe if you have procrastinating tendencies. It relates to the solar plexus chakra.
The fourth toe is the Water toe, also known as the relationship toe and is associated with the sacral chakra.
Finally the little toe is known as the Earth toe and relates to trust and prosperity. This corresponds with the base chakra.

With some intuitive inner listening, a keen eye and possibly some austere yoga moves to get your toes up close enough to your eyes...I wish you happy toe reading.

Divine Coincidence

Today was market day in Dongara...the last market before Christmas. I don't normally have the opportunity to go but today I was determined to at least catch the last hour. I had a strong desire to see the crystal stall I was told about.WOW!!! I was in my element...I could feel the energies of these beautiful stones lift me up.Chris Campbell the 'Crystal Man' is a wealth of information and his enthusiasm and passion is infectious. Soon his stall was surrounded by people holding these precious stones and viewing them in the sunlight. I was mesmerised with his stories of each stone.
I was drawn to a few special crystals as gifts for the people I love...but today my greatest gift was given to me by Chris...a Pietersite, also known as the Tempest Stone (pictured above). It is a high vibration stone that is used by many healers in their energy work. It is said to hold 'the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven'. What a Divine Coincidence!!! Chris gifted the perfect stone for me and my work...my passion.Thank you for this blessing Chris.
